Oil filtering at it's best Sep 06, 2009
I've been using OEM filters on my turbocharged Audi A4 before trying these, so popular K&N oil filters. I must say that ever since i started using the K&N filters along with the Valvoline synthetic oil my car;s engine works much more quiter & smoother. You can tell the difference once you try it, it's just great.

These K&N oil filters are high quality filters with the benefit of the nut on the bottom. On some cars with limited room around the oil filter, the nut on the bottom is priceless.

K&N Oil Filters: Made For Easier Maintenance & Engine Longevity Jan 06, 2009
I've been using these K&N Oil Filters on all 3 vehicles I'm steward of for several years: A 1983 Dodge D150 w/ a 225 slant6, Jeep Wrangler w/ 4.0L AMC inline six and a Harley Davidson Sportster Custom. What's so good about K&N oil filters is that they make changing oil on a vehicle a lot easier. No special custom tool like a filter wrench or filter remover tool, or worse yet, a screwdriver & ball peen hammer. Just a 1" socket for the 4 wheeled vehicles and a 17mm for the Harleys and it's off!

The Jeep & Dodge take the same filter, so that makes it easier for me to remember what filter to get. I use this HP-3001 on the Jeep's AMC inline six because I desire that extra 1/4 of a quart of oil in the oiling system of that engine as its an everyday driver. The Harley's oil changes are a breeze, just like the other two, but with a 17mm nut on the top of that particular filter & that's what helps making the most basic of vehicular maintenance easier.

The Harley oil filters by K&N are available in chrome also ~for those who want the extra 5hp just by using that filter as opposed to the black one which give no extra boost whatsoever;}

Other niceties are the heavier construction, holes for safety wire use, filtering media that traps 99% of the bad stuff through an efficient high flowing media and an effective anti-drainback valve to prevent 'dry' starts. All of these features give added peace of mind concerning the engine's life=your vehicle's oil filter is about that, isn't it?
